PepsiCo, or their subsidiary Frito-Lay, is using machine learning to control the quality of their chips in their manufacturing plant. Their project used laser to hit the chips and then determine the texture by listening to the sounds coming off the chip. Additionally, they have since used machine learning in for example predicting the weight of potatoes being processed.
